Shannon E. Lane, a citizen of the Osage Nation. She graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law in May 2022, and passed the Oklahoma Bar Exam in July 2022. While in law school, Ms. Lane worked as the Firm’s Licensed Legal Intern (LLI). Upon earning her Juris Doctorate and passing the Bar Exam, Ms. Lane joined the Firm as an associate attorney in September 2022.

Upon applying for law school, Ms. Lane earned the Osage Nation’s tribal scholarship and OCU School of Law’s merit-based scholarship. In addition to working as an LLI while attending law school full time, she served as President of the Native American Law Students Association from 2020 to 2022 and volunteered at the American Indian Wills Clinic.  In the clinic, Ms. Lane assisted fellow tribal members with wills, focusing on trust land and restricted property. Ms. Lane was also a member of the Stony the Road Diversity Group, a student-led organization that hosted speaking events every semester concerning the intersection of civil rights and the law.

Prior to law school, Ms. Lane attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she majored in Sociology and minored in Legal Studies. While attending OSU, Ms. Lane served as a peer educator for 1 is 2 many, took legal education classes through Honors College, and volunteered at Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma.

While working for Shannon D. Taylor, PLLC, Ms. Lane has become an integral part of the Firm’s team.
